Many of us now have to work out of the area due to the failing local economy and therefore cannot make parish council meetings.
Speed limits do not necessarily reduce accidents and the SID devices will only be operated at times when it is safe to do so and at limited locations. What is required is a proper risk assessment of the, bends, corners & lanes and the mitigations (such as warning signs, road improvements etc) that could be put in place to make it safer for drivers, pedestrians and other users. Speed limits alone will not reduce accidents throughout the parish.
I urge the parish councellors to take the lead and arrange for a feasibility study.
